Hakan Fidan continues his contacts with Hamas

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held an important meeting with Hamas Shura Council Chairman Mohammed Ismail Darwish and his accompanying delegation in Doha, the capital of Qatar, where he arrived as part of an official visit. The agenda of the meeting included the latest humanitarian situation in Gaza and the current status of ceasefire negotiations.

According to information obtained from Foreign Ministry sources, Minister Fidan exchanged views with Darwish and members of the Hamas Political Bureau on the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the ceasefire talks. During the meeting, Hamas conveyed their ongoing efforts to achieve a permanent ceasefire and shared up-to-date information regarding the latest discussions.

Foreign Minister Fidan emphasized Turkey's diplomatic efforts and bilateral initiatives carried out on international platforms to ensure peace in Gaza. It was stated that Turkey would continue its active role in this process and that work would continue to contribute to peace in the region.

The meeting also addressed the humanitarian catastrophe caused by Israel's obstruction of humanitarian aid entries into Gaza for approximately two months. Minister Fidan underscored the need for an urgent solution to this crisis, emphasizing that every effort must be made to meet the needs of the people in the region.
