Halkbank issues statement to KAP regarding US case

Halkbank has issued a statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) regarding the criminal case conducted against the bank in the US and the processes before the US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

The statement noted that the compliance report, which was required to be prepared under the Deferred Prosecution Agreement signed between the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York and Halkbank and which entered into force on March 11, 2026, has been completed by an expert organization.

In the statement made by the bank, it was expressed that the report in question was submitted to the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York and OFAC within the specified timeframe.

JOINT PETITION FILED WITH THE COURT

Halkbank announced that following the submission of the compliance report, the bank and the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York filed a jointly signed petition for the dismissal of the criminal case with the US District Court for the Southern District of New York on June 10, 2026, within the framework of the settlement agreement.

9-YEAR PROCESS MAY COME TO AN END

The statement noted that if the court accepts the joint request and approves the dismissal of the criminal case, the judicial process that has been ongoing for approximately 9 years will come to a complete end.
