Haluk Levent recounts his experiences on the anniversary of February 6: 'I can never forget the children's screams'

On the third anniversary of the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes of February 6, the deep scars left by the disaster have yet to fade. Haluk Levent, one of the figures who went to the region immediately after the earthquake, recounted his experiences and feelings. Connecting to Sözcü TV, Levent described the days he spent in the earthquake zone with the expressions "indescribable pain" and "extremely traumatic."

Stating that those days remain vivid in his mind, the artist emphasized that the voices of children coming from under the rubble, in particular, shook him deeply.

"I can never forget the children's screams," said Levent, expressing the helplessness he felt with these words:

"I wish I were an excavator. Would a person want to be an excavator? But that is how one feels there."

Stating that they have never severed their ties with the earthquake zone, Levent also touched upon the work carried out by the Ahbap Association, which he founded. Reporting that numerous schools, nurseries, youth centers, and residences have been brought to life to date, Levent stated that projects aimed at revitalizing social life are also continuing.
