Harsh response from MHP to Ümit Özdağ: 'He changes shape in the hands of imperialism'

The process that began with Devlet Bahçeli calling on PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan to address the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, and continued with a DEM Party delegation visiting İmralı to meet with Öcalan before visiting political parties with groups in Parliament, has brought the MHP and the Zafer Party into conflict. A harsh response came from the MHP to Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ, who said, "Devlet Bahçeli is committing a crime against the Turkish state and the Turkish nation; by saying 'a Turkey without terror,' he is trying to force Turkey to kneel before a terrorist organization." Targeting Özdağ with the words "intelligence apparatus," MHP Secretary General İsmet Büyükataman stated, "No one can force the Turkish state to kneel; where our Chairman Mr. Devlet Bahçeli is, there can be no talk of betrayal or surrender."

İsmet Büyükataman's post on his social media account is as follows:

"The intelligence apparatus Özdağ has attacked our Chairman with remarks exceeding his bounds by saying 'we are not making feminine-character sentences, we are speaking clearly,' revealing the problematic state his mental health has reached.

Özdağ should know this well: no one can force the Turkish state to kneel; where our Chairman Mr. Devlet Bahçeli is, there can be no talk of betrayal or surrender.

Indeed, in all of our Chairman's statements, it has been clearly underlined that the fight against terrorism will continue with determination and that if terrorists do not lay down their arms, they will be buried underground. Despite this, Özdağ continues to pitifully persist with his slanders. The vision of a 'Turkey without terror' has completely disrupted the settings of this hopeless case and caused him to lose control.

We already knew that he did not have the capacity to comprehend the vision put forward by Mr. Devlet Bahçeli. However, at this point, it is a matter of curiosity why he is so disturbed by the moves aimed at removing terror from the country's agenda and ending it in our region.

This individual, who attacks even the determination shown by our Chairman regarding the fight against terrorism by distorting it with a low-quality tone, should first explain why he turned around within two weeks during the presidential election process and supported the same candidate as the terrorists in Qandil. The secret protocols he signed with Qandil's candidate have shown our noble nation how crooked the line of this individual is.
