Intense clashes occurred between the Damascus administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in two of Aleppo's largest neighborhoods starting on January 6. Many civilians lost their lives during this period. The Damascus administration had given the SDF members in the region until 09:00 on the morning of January 9 to evacuate.

CEASEFIRE AND EVACUATION PROCESS FROM THE DAMASCUS ADMINISTRATION

It was reported that after the deadline expired, the evacuation of SDF forces from Aleppo began. The Syrian state news agency (SANA) announced that the SDF members were transported to the northeastern regions of Syria carrying only individual light weapons. The evacuation in question began with the departure of buses from the region.

DAMASCUS ADMINISTRATION FORCES ENTER ALEPPO

Following the evacuations, it is stated that the military forces of the Damascus administration will enter the Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsood neighborhoods of Aleppo. These developments were noted as part of the process for the Damascus administration to regain control of the region.

Turkey is closely monitoring the latest developments in Syria. According to security sources, Turkey's priority is to protect Syria's territorial integrity. It is stated that the SDF is attempting to prolong the clashes in order to gain time. It is reported that President Erdoğan is being informed of the developments moment by moment and that planning is being carried out in accordance with his instructions.

Security sources also reported that Turkey has sent messages to the SDF through appropriate channels and that the MIT (National Intelligence Organization) is continuously monitoring developments on the ground.
