He corrected Erdoğan, his residence permit was denied

Social media influencer Yoshi Enomoto had to make a difficult decision after his residence permit was denied following 7 years in Turkey. In a statement on his social media account, the Japanese YouTuber said, "I have to leave Turkey, where I have lived for 7 years and which I see as my home." Expressing his love for the Turkish people, Yoshi said, "Love is like this; even if you love, it doesn't work if you aren't loved back. I thank everyone who gave me material and moral support. I am very sad, I am crying, but I am still in love. Long live Turkey."

HE SHARED HIS FRUSTRATION BY SAYING "MY 7 YEARS WENT TO WASTE"

Yoshi had stated that he needed to stay in Turkey for 8 years to obtain a long-term residence permit. Explaining that he would earn the right to apply for permanent residency with the residence permits he received during this time, Yoshi said, "If I get a residence permit for 8 consecutive years, I can apply for permanent residency. Getting that was my big dream. Now, with this result, my 7 years have gone to waste. Even if I get a new permit, it will start from 0 again. Otherwise, I could try to stay here through another path; after all, I am in love."

HE BECAME KNOWN FOR CORRECTING ERDOĞAN

Throughout his life in Turkey, Yoshi became known not only for his residence permit issues but also for correcting misconceptions he encountered on social media. One of his most notable moments was when President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan quoted a Japanese proverb incorrectly. Erdoğan had said, "There is a Japanese proverb: 'Even if it is your enemy, keep the thread of connection tight, do not break it. One day that connection will be needed again.'" However, Yoshi pointed out that this saying does not exist in Japanese culture, stating, "Dear President, I searched for it in Japanese on the internet many times. I even looked at several Japanese proverb dictionaries. However, I could not find such a Japanese proverb. Respectfully," he said, correcting Erdoğan.
