He had assaulted a child on the subway: Decision reached regarding him

In recent days, moments showing an individual assaulting a young child, who was selling hair clips and was alleged to be a foreign national, on the Yenikapı-Hacıosman subway line had drawn significant backlash on social media.

Following the incident, Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced on his social media account that D.A., who assaulted the young child, has been arrested.

"VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN IS UNACCEPTABLE"

Noting that work on the matter is being carried out meticulously in a post on his social media account, Tunç stated the following:

Within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the physical assault on a foreign national child selling items on the subway in Istanbul; the detained suspect has been arrested by the Criminal Court of Peace on charges of "simple assault against a person who is unable to defend themselves physically or mentally, and publicly inciting the public to hatred and hostility."

Violence against innocent children, whose best interests we protect, is unacceptable for any reason, and we do not tolerate it. The investigation is being conducted meticulously.
