He had attacked his father with a machete: Footage of a retired police officer shooting his son in Adana has emerged
Mobile phone footage has emerged regarding an incident in Adana where a retired police officer shot and killed his son, who had attacked him with a machete. In the footage, gunshots are heard in rapid succession, and all details of the incident are being investigated as part of the ongoing inquiry.
A domestic dispute in the Sarıçam district of Adana ended in bloodshed. It is alleged that 23-year-old A.K.K., who was reported to be a drug addict, demanded money from his father, a retired police officer named F.K. When his request was not met, tension arose between the two parties.
In the incident that took place on Elif Su Uludağ Street in the Gültepe neighborhood, A.K.K. attacked his father with a machete he had with him. Following this, F.K. fired at his son with his licensed handgun.
According to allegations, F.K. continued to fire until the ammunition in his weapon was exhausted, and as a result of the gunfire, A.K.K. was struck in various parts of his body and fell to the ground.
Following the gunshots, F.K. called the 112 Emergency Call Center to report the situation. Health and police teams dispatched to the area determined that A.K.K. had lost his life.
It was stated that F.K. waited by his son's side until police teams arrived at the scene; he was taken into custody and brought to the police station. The suspect was later handed over to the Homicide Bureau teams for further processing.
Meanwhile, the incident was recorded by a person in the vicinity using a mobile phone camera. Footage of the moment of the incident has now emerged.
