He had broken the assistant principal's door: That school principal has been suspended

Bursa—Mahmut Celalettin Öktem Imam Hatip Secondary School Principal Ergin Kaya Kırbıyık, who was under investigation following allegations that he broke down the door of an office reportedly used by an assistant principal at the school, has been suspended. It was learned that the reason for breaking the door, which was the subject of the incident, was that the room was not an assistant principal's office, but rather a room with a restroom that was also used by other teachers, and that it had only one key; the incident occurred after the assistant principal failed to surrender the key in her possession to staff despite written and verbal requests.

In Bursa, Mahmut Celalettin Öktem Imam Hatip Secondary School Principal Ergin Kaya Kırbıyık allegedly told a female assistant principal to vacate the room. When the assistant principal did not comply with the instructions given to her in writing and verbally, the room, which she had designed for herself, was forcibly opened by school principal Kırbıyık under the supervision of others, and the items in the room were removed. The assistant principal did not open the door and recorded the events on video, sharing them on social media. Following the rapid spread of the video, Kırbıyık, against whom an investigation was launched by the Ministry of National Education, was suspended.

THE TRUTH OF THE INCIDENT IS DIFFERENT

However, the official report revealed that there was an attempt to distort the incident. It was stated that the room that was forcibly opened was not an assistant principal's office, but a section containing a restroom that was open for use by other teachers. It emerged that the room had only one key, and despite being requested in writing and verbally after being used by the assistant principal, it was not surrendered to the staff by the assistant principal. It was recorded in the minutes that because the restroom inside the room was used by preschool teachers and the key could not be retrieved, the door was forcibly opened by staff, and the restroom in the inner section was made available for teachers' use again. However, it was noted that the incident was presented as 'forcibly entering an assistant principal's office' in an attempt to create a false perception, and that there was official correspondence regarding the matter submitted to the relevant units.
