He had called it a “flip-flopping party”: Response to Fatih Portakal from an IYI Party member

Journalist Fatih Portakal made notable remarks during his main news broadcast. Commenting on the IYI Party's decision to field candidates independently of any alliance in all 81 provinces for the local elections, Portakal made comments that would anger the party leadership.

Fatih Portakal used the following expressions regarding the subject:

Responding to these words from Portakal on social media, İYİ Party Antalya Deputy Uğur Poyraz used the phrase "This is an effort of political engineering filled with arrogance, insolence, and complexes" in reference to the famous journalist.

In the post he shared on his X account, Uğur Poyraz included the following statements;

"Freedom of the press, expression, and thought is fine. Tolerance for criticism in the face of criticism is also part of political responsibility. That is also fine. The video below, however, is an effort of political engineering filled with arrogance, insolence, and complexes. We saw this movie before the elections as well. Forgetting that he is performing a public duty on screen and engaging in periodic career planning, this insolent person has shown the audacity to belittle IYI Party Chairwoman Ms. Meral Akşener, her executives, her organizations, and the voters who cast their ballots for her. In our view, this person, who lacks professional ethics, is not a member of our honorable press, but an apparatus trying to design politics."
