He had gone to Yüksekova for duty: Turkish Petroleum Exploration Department Head Sadioğlu found dead in hotel room

Mehmet Salih Bülent Sadioğlu, Head of the Exploration Department at the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO), was found dead in his hotel room in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari.

Sadioğlu (53), who was staying at a hotel on Ipekyolu Street while in Yüksekova for duty, did not come down for breakfast. When his colleagues could not reach him, they requested assistance from hotel staff.

Entering the room with the help of staff, his colleagues found Sadioğlu lying motionless on the floor.

Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the hotel.

Checks performed by medical personnel confirmed that Sadioğlu had lost his life.

Following an investigation, Sadioğlu's body was sent to the Hakkari State Hospital morgue for an autopsy under the instruction of the public prosecutor.

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE FROM MINISTER BAYRAKTAR

It was stated that Bülent Sadioğlu and his colleagues had checked into the hotel yesterday.

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar also shared a condolence message on his social media account regarding Sadioğlu's passing.

In his message, Bayraktar stated, "I am deeply saddened by the passing of our Turkish Petroleum Exploration Department Head, Mehmet Salih Bülent Sadioğlu, due to a heart attack. I wish God's mercy upon our colleague and patience for his family and loved ones. May we have our condolences."
