He handed over 19 thousand 800 liras he found at an ATM to the staff
In Yozgat, tradesman Tamer Kahraman handed over 19 thousand 800 liras he found in the cash dispenser of an ATM he went to for a withdrawal to bank staff to be returned to its owner.
Tamer Kahraman, a tradesman in the Boğazlıyan district of Yozgat, went to a bank's ATM to withdraw money. Noticing a large amount of cash in the device's dispenser, Kahraman reported the situation to the bank's customer service, took the money, and returned to his workplace.
Shortly after, bank staff went to Kahraman's workplace and took delivery of the 19 thousand 800 liras with an official report. The bank staff then delivered the money to its owner.
Tamer Kahraman stated that what he did was a human duty, saying, "When I went to the ATM to withdraw money, I saw a large amount of cash in the dispenser. I took the money and immediately called the bank's customer service. Bank officials told me that the previous customer had come to the ATM to deposit money but left the ATM without pressing the confirmation button to complete the transaction. Bank officials came to my workplace today, drew up a report, and took delivery of the money."
