The hantavirus outbreak that emerged in recent weeks on a cruise ship sailing off the coast of Cape Verde has caused widespread panic among passengers. While three people have lost their lives due to the outbreak, many others on the ship have been placed under quarantine. While the famous YouTuber Ruhi Çenet managed to escape safely, wildlife expert Emin Yoğurtçuoğlu and his friend Melike Güner remain stranded and isolated on the ship.

WEDDING POST CAUSES A STIR ON SOCIAL MEDIA

It was revealed that immediately after leaving the ship, Ruhi Çenet attended a wedding in Çatalca, Istanbul, a behavior that drew harsh criticism on social media. Social media users and passengers still on the ship reacted with comments such as, "Don't you think about us too? How can you go to a wedding?" while the shared wedding footage quickly went viral.

Emin Yoğurtçuoğlu, who remains on the ship, harshly criticized the statements Ruhi Çenet made to the public. Claiming that the famous YouTuber shared inaccurate information, Yoğurtçuoğlu stated the following:

"My dear Ruhi, we were together on the ship. We chatted so much and spent time together. We are still on the ship and you know this. You didn't ask how we were doing, nor did you reply to the messages I sent you.

Furthermore, you are now sharing some inaccurate information as if it were true at a very critical moment. By spreading these things this way, are you trying to make our disembarkation from the ship even more difficult? Is now really the time to share a video that fits the flow of the agenda? We are still on the ship and we are safe.

It has not been proven that the first person who died passed away from hantavirus. Moreover, while it has not even been proven yet that this is a virus transmitted from human to human, presenting it as a contagious disease means throwing us into the fire in front of the world media. Stating that they are trying to leave the ship safely and in good health, Yoğurtçuoğlu accused Çenet of sharing the video solely to create an agenda. He also added, "I think if your mind had been on those of us on this ship, you wouldn't have seen a message as too much. Especially since I have been writing to you since Sunday, asking if you have any problems."

RUHİ ÇENET DEFENDS HIMSELF

Despite the reactions, Ruhi Çenet explained his experience in his latest video. The famous figure said, "During our cruise, which lasted about a month, when a passenger among us lost their life, I thought it was due to ocean conditions. However, the situation was much worse than we thought." Providing information about his health status, Ruhi Çenet, a father of two, added, "Thanks to those who were worried and asked about me; I escaped very narrowly, but my mind is still there. I had the necessary blood tests done. Everyone continued to be in close contact. Meals were eaten together, group activities were held. Moreover, blood tests should have been requested from the first day, even before the passengers were allowed to board the ship."
