He rushed to court after the Narin murder: 'I do not want to share the same name as a person with a murderous mindset'
Nevzat Temel, a citizen living in the Turgutlu district of Manisa, has applied to the court to change his name, stating that he does not want to share the same name as Nevzat Bahtiyar, who confessed to carrying Narin Güran's body in the Narin Güran murder case.
54-year-old Nevzat Temel, who works in construction in the Turgutlu district, has applied to the court for a name change.
Nevzat Temel, who shares the same name as Nevzat Bahtiyar—the individual arrested for allegedly carrying the body of 8-year-old Narin Güran in the murder that took place in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of the Bağlar district in Diyarbakır—stated that he was deeply affected by the incident and decided to change his name.
Speaking to reporters after submitting his petition to the Turgutlu Courthouse through his lawyer, Nevzat Temel said, "We are watching the events on television. This affected me deeply, and I made this decision because I do not want to share the same name as a person with such a murderous mindset. I wanted to change my new name to Barış (Peace). I hope peace and happiness come to the whole world."
