The tragic incident occurred in the evening hours at an apartment located on 5016 Street in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood. According to the information received, 75-year-old Ayşe Ceyhan fell to the floor while cooking and was unable to get back up. As the stove remained on, a fire broke out in the house, and no one heard the screams of Ceyhan, who was reportedly alone at home at the time.

Upon the notification of neighbors who noticed the fire at the last moment, fire and medical teams were dispatched to the scene, and the elderly woman was rescued from the flames with great difficulty by firefighters. The elderly woman, who was found to have been affected by smoke, was resuscitated by medical teams with CPR and taken to Selçuk State Hospital by ambulance. It was learned that Ayşe Ceyhan, who is currently under treatment there, remains in critical condition.

On the other hand, it was learned that upon hearing about the fire, Ayşe Ceyhan's son also threw himself into the flames in an attempt to save his mother. The elderly woman's son, Serhan Ceyhan, was also affected by smoke and was taken to the hospital.

An investigation into the incident has been launched, and it was reported that police teams are continuing their examination of the area.
