He was detained in the GAİN investigation: First statement from Okan Karacan

Famous actor and presenter Okan Karacan was detained as part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into GAİN Medya regarding allegations of "money laundering," "illegal betting," and "establishing a criminal organization." 

Karacan was referred to the courthouse and released under judicial control following the procedures. Within the scope of the same investigation, Berkin Kaya, Barbaros Reşat Gülcan, and Selahattin Aydın were arrested.

STATEMENT FROM OKAN KARACAN

Okan Karacan made a written statement on his social media account regarding the process. Stating that he was called by the gendarmerie to give a statement, Karacan denied the allegations that he had been detained and said the following:

"Being called to the Gendarmerie Command is not a detention situation; it took place entirely for the purpose of giving a statement. At the end of this process, no negative situation occurred, and I am grateful to them for the professionalism and respect they showed."

Expressing his thanks to the gendarmerie organization in his statement, Karacan spoke as follows:

"I would like to thank the gendarmerie organization for the understanding, moral, and humane approach they showed me in line with human rights and human values. I offer my gratitude to all the officials who performed their duties meticulously during this process and to everyone who contributed to the work."

Okan Karacan also thanked his close circle in his statement. Emphasizing that the process was an empowering experience for him, Karacan stated that he was grateful for the support given by his family and friends.

"First of all, my friends and family who were by my side every moment during this process; the support you gave me made me very strong. It is difficult to express in words how grateful I am to you. Thanks to what happened, I will continue on my path in a stronger and more correct way. I am glad you exist, my beautiful family. I believe that together with you, I will reach higher goals in time."
