Health Minister makes a promise for his hometown: A city hospital will be built in Rize

Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu, in a statement following a health evaluation meeting in Rize, noted that they place special importance on Rize both because it is the hometown of President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and because it is his own hometown, adding, "We will present to our nation, in a short time, the city hospital that everyone is curious about, perhaps the most beautiful and best city hospital in Turkey."

Memişoğlu attended an evaluation meeting held at the Governor's Office in Rize with Presidential Health and Food Policies Board Deputy Chairman Prof. Dr. Serkan Topaloğlu, Deputy Minister of Health Şuayip Birinci, Rize Governor İhsan Selim Baydaş, AK Party Rize deputies Muhammed Avcı and Harun Mertoğlu, Mayor Rahmi Metin, Ministry of Health General Director of Health Services Hasan Basri Velioğlu, Provincial Health Director Mustafa Tepe, and relevant agency directors.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu said, "Rize is, in particular, the hometown of our President, and it is my hometown. Because we place special importance on this place, we made our second visit here after the earthquake region of Maraş. Hopefully, we will provide much better health services."

'WE WILL ANNOUNCE IT TO OUR PEOPLE'

Memişoğlu spoke as follows:

"We will present to our nation, in a short time, the city hospital that everyone is curious about, perhaps the most beautiful and best city hospital in Turkey. Regarding this matter, we have the President's explicit instruction to put it into the service of our nation as soon as possible. This will cause the health-related problems in Rize to decrease to a very large extent, or even come to an end. As the Ministry of Health, our goal is for there to be no unresolved health problems in Rize for any of us. That is, we will ensure that a patient or a person with an ailment in Rize will not be in need of going elsewhere to receive health services, and we hope to achieve this. We will always remain in contact here and provide better health services. Besides this, I also see that we need to exert great effort in Rize, especially regarding family medicine and primary health services, to protect our health before getting sick. We will strengthen family health centers and healthy living centers where we can deliver services to our elderly and children more quickly and earlier. We will announce the plans regarding this to our public very soon."
