Heartbreaking moments in Kadıköy: 4 disabled individuals fell into the sea, 1 could not be saved
One of four disabled citizens who fell into the sea at the Kadıköy waterfront lost their life, while three were rescued through the intervention of bystanders and military personnel.
In a tragic incident that occurred this morning near the Adalar Pier at the Kadıköy waterfront, 4 disabled citizens fell into the sea. According to eyewitness accounts, a group of friends—two of whom were hearing-impaired and two visually impaired—were walking on the pier when one person fell into the water. The other three individuals jumped in to try and save their friend.
Bystanders who noticed the situation immediately notified the 112 Emergency Service teams. Police, medical teams, and military personnel were dispatched to the scene in a short time. While one of those who fell into the sea lost their life, the other three were rescued alive as a result of the interventions.
MILITARY PERSONNEL INTERVENED
Eyewitness İbrahim Aydın said, “A soldier friend rescued those who fell into the sea. There were 4 people; they were deaf and mute. One of them fell while looking at the sea, and the others jumped in to save them. 3 were rescued.”
Another witness, Abbas Dursun, stated, “When I shouted, people came running. A soldier boy jumped in and rescued them. But one of them passed away. There were 4 of them.”
