Heartbreaking truth revealed about Merve Menteş, who lost her life in the Oba Makarna explosion

One person lost their life and 30 others were injured in the explosion that occurred on Sunday, September 15, at the Oba Makarna factory operating near the Hendek toll booths on the Anatolian Motorway. 27-year-old Mesut Şimay, whose lifeless body was found inside the factory during cooling efforts by fire crews, was laid to rest in the Akyazı district on September 16. 22-year-old Eray Kızıldağ, who was critically injured in the explosion and lost his 20-day battle for life at the Kocaeli City Hospital, was laid to rest from the Hendek district on Saturday, October 5.

. 24-year-old Güven Albayrak, who was critically injured in the explosion and was receiving treatment at the Burn Unit of the Istanbul Kartal Training and Research Hospital, was laid to rest in Düzce after 25 days.

HER FIANCÉ COULD NOT HOLD BACK TEARS

Sad news also arrived yesterday regarding 26-year-old Merve Menteş, who was receiving treatment at the Burn Unit of the Istanbul Kartal Training and Research Hospital. Despite all interventions, Menteş could not be saved and passed away. It was also learned that Merve was set to get married on November 9, 2024. With the death of 26-year-old Merve, the death toll from the pasta factory explosion has risen to 4.

Merve's body, which was handed over to her family following hospital procedures, was brought to her home in the Yeşilköy neighborhood of the Hendek district. Merve, who was one of 3 siblings and had graduated from Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University Food Engineering last year, was buried in the neighborhood cemetery following the funeral prayer held in front of her house after the noon prayer. Merve's fiancé and her father, Mehmet Menteş, could not hold back their tears as a bridal veil was placed on her coffin.

The funeral was attended by her fiancé, family, relatives, friends, and factory owner Mehmet Musa Özgüçlü. Merve Menteş was laid to rest amidst tears.
