The Hezbollah Movement announced that 4 of its members, including a field commander, were killed in an airstrike carried out by Israel on southern Lebanon. Security sources speaking to Reuters reported that the killed commander was a 'high-ranking' official. Al Jazeera stated that the death of this commander is 'Hezbollah's biggest loss' in the clashes that began in October, parallel to the attacks on Gaza.

Hezbollah issued a statement regarding the losses caused by Israeli attacks. The statement noted that in addition to Talib Sami Abdullah, who was referred to with the title of "commander," Muhammad Hussein Sabra, Ali Salim Sufan, and Hussein Qasim Hamid also lost their lives. Reports in local Lebanese media stated that Abdullah was born in the village of Adshit in southern Lebanon in 1969 and was one of Hezbollah's prominent field commanders in the southern region.

It was recorded that Abdullah and the other Hezbollah members were killed in an airstrike carried out by Israel during the night on the village of Juwaya, located approximately 15 kilometers from the border.

Since the clashes with the Israeli army began on October 8, 2023, Hezbollah had previously announced the death of another field commander. Israel killed Hezbollah field commander Wissam al-Tawil in an airstrike on January 8. The number of Hezbollah members who have died in clashes with the Israeli army along the border line since October 8, 2023, has risen to 339.

Following the news of the death, it was reported that the Hezbollah Movement launched one of its most intense missile attacks on northern Israeli regions since October 8, 2023. According to a report by Israeli Army Radio, an intense missile attack was carried out from southern Lebanon toward northern Israel. The report noted that sirens were heard in Safed, the city of Tiberias, and many settlements in the Upper Galilee region along the border line.

According to AA, it was pointed out that this was the first time Hezbollah had carried out an attack on the city of Tiberias. A report by The Times of Israel stated that sirens sounded in at least 52 settlements along the border line. A statement from the Israeli army indicated that approximately 90 attacks from Lebanese territory toward northern Israel were detected, with some being neutralized and others causing fires.
