Highways no longer under police: Traffic enforcement shifts to Gendarmerie
With a new traffic regulation prepared by the Ministry of Interior, traffic enforcement and control duties on highways will be fully transferred to the Gendarmerie. As the police withdraw from highway enforcement duties, Gendarmerie teams will take over this responsibility nationwide.

GENDARMERIE INSTEAD OF POLICE
According to a report by Toygun Atilla from Patronlar Dünyası, there will no longer be police on highways under this regulation. Gendarmerie teams will carry out traffic and enforcement duties throughout the country.
Under the current regulation, police were responsible for areas where traffic police were absent or insufficient, while the Gendarmerie operated in areas outside the jurisdiction of the police and traffic organization.
