Holiday message from İmamoğlu

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, whose diploma was first cancelled and who was then arrested on the day he was selected as a presidential candidate, shared holiday footage from Saraçhane via his social media account.

İmamoğlu added a note to the footage stating that he was celebrating the holiday with citizens in heart and spirit.

In his post, İmamoğlu stated the following:

"These beautiful images are from Saraçhane, the home of Istanbul residents and democracy.

Istanbulites, mothers and fathers are together with their children, the owners of the national will are enjoying the spirit of neighborhood and fellow citizenship with enthusiasm.

It does not matter at all that I am not there. We are celebrating the holiday in heart and spirit.

While wishing dear mothers, fathers, and the beautiful people of Istanbul a happy holiday once again; I call on you to bring cookies, pastries, and desserts from your homes and share them with your neighbors without sparing your kindness.

May our abundance, friendship, and affection increase.

Evil will lose, goodness will win.

Everything will be very beautiful."
