Horrific accident in Iraq: Bus overturns, 21 dead, 19 injured

In southern Iraq, a passenger bus overturned on the highway connecting the cities of Nasiriyah and Basra, resulting in 21 deaths and 19 injuries according to initial reports. It was reported that Iranian citizens were among those who lost their lives.

A tragic traffic accident occurred in the morning hours on the strategic highway connecting the southern regions of Iraq. The passenger bus went out of control after the driver lost steering control, swerved, and overturned. IRANIAN VISITORS AMONG THE DECEASED

According to initial information in the Iraqi press, 21 people on the bus died tragically at the scene due to the severity of the crash. It was reported that some of the deceased and injured were Iranian citizens who had come to visit holy sites in the country. The 19 people injured in the accident were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment after receiving initial medical intervention.

MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND PRIME MINISTRY ON ALERT

Following the massacre-like accident, consecutive instructions came from the top of the Iraqi government:

Minister Al-Musawi Mobilized All Resources: Minister of Health Abdulhussein al-Musawi ordered all hospitals and medical personnel in the region to be put on high alert to ensure that the highest level of medical care is provided to the injured immediately.

Investigation Order from Prime Minister Al-Zaidi: In an official statement from the Prime Minister's Office, it was stated that Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi gave strict orders to immediately launch a comprehensive investigation into the accident, to closely monitor the condition of the injured, and to provide all kinds of material and moral support to the families of those who lost their lives.

While the highway route where the accident occurred was closed to traffic for a while due to investigations, efforts to remove the wreckage of the bus are ongoing. Authorities are investigating whether the accident was caused by speeding, driver fatigue, or road defects.
