'Horrific' question in test book sparks outrage among parents
While the Turkish public agenda is focused on rising violence, harassment, murder, and blackmail targeting young children via social media platforms, a question in a test book has drawn attention. Parents have reacted to a question posed to 6th-grade students that features the +18 rated films 'Mühr-ü Cin' and 'İnsan Yiyenler'.

A controversial question has appeared in a Turkish language question bank, a supplementary resource widely used among middle school students.
In the 6th Grade Turkish Strengthening Question Bank published by Ankara Yayıncılık, the final question of the 11th test in the verbal logic and visual reading section included the following statements:

'IT LEFT ME STUNNED'
A parent, who is also a teacher, expressed their views on the matter: "This question is in the Ankara Yayıncılık 6th Grade Question Bank. In our country, where violence has reached a horrific level, it left me stunned that such content is presented to children."
NO RESPONSE FROM THE PUBLISHER
The parent, who stated that they had written to Ankara Yayıncılık but had not received a response for 5 days, included the following in their complaint to the publisher: "The film visuals used in the last question of the 11th test in the verbal logic and visual reading section of your 6th Grade Turkish Strengthening Question Bank do not appear suitable for children. In this age where we make great efforts to keep children away from violence and tension, it is quite sad that they encounter such things in their textbooks. More appropriate films could have been chosen from among hundreds of films. I hope it will be removed in future editions. Hoping for your attention and a solution..."
