House arrest ordered for one of three children who assaulted a homeless man
In an attack on a citizen living on the streets in Adana, one of the three children apprehended was sentenced to house arrest, while the other two were released under judicial control.
In the incident that took place on the evening of May 3 in the Ziyapaşa neighborhood of the Seyhan district, 52-year-old Aziz Coşkun, who lives on the streets and in parks, was attacked by three children he did not know.
According to allegations, Coşkun, who was walking down the street, was punched and assaulted by a group that included children identified as M.C. (14), G.Ş. (13), and A.E. (15). Following the incident, the children quickly fled the scene. The attack in question was also captured on nearby security cameras.
Upon reports from citizens, medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Coşkun, who was determined to have received blows to his face, declined the offer of treatment. Coşkun, whose health condition was reported to be good, said regarding the attack, "While I was walking down the street, children I did not know attacked me for no reason."
The Juvenile Bureau teams investigating the incident identified the attackers by examining cameras in the area and took them into custody in a short time. After their procedures at the police station, the three children were referred to the courthouse, where M.C. was sentenced to house arrest by the court. G.Ş. and A.E. were released under judicial control conditions.
