Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya has made a new statement regarding those detained during the protests against the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
Announcing that 1,418 people have been detained to date in the protests held since March 19, 2025, Yerlikaya reported that 979 individuals currently in custody will be referred to judicial authorities under escort.
