Husband of woman who told Erdoğan 'I have no home' in Malatya apologizes

The husband of a woman who called out to President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was attending the AKP's 8th Ordinary Malatya Provincial Congress and mass opening ceremony, saying, "I have no home, I am living in a tent," has apologized on camera. While this development caused a major stir in public opinion, reactions from the opposition were swift.

CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır shared footage of the incident on his social media account and reacted to the situation with harsh words. In his post, Başarır stated the following:

"If the husband of an earthquake survivor who says, 'I have no home, I am living in a tent,' is forced to go on camera and apologize; then damn this order of fear of yours that prioritizes containers over tents and treats seeking one's rights as a crime!"

WHAT HAPPENED?

Erdoğan, who visited Malatya recently, was distributing toys to children from his bus when the voice of a woman from the crowd was heard saying, "Mr. President, can we talk for two minutes? Can I say two words? I have no home, Mr. President, I have no home. I am staying in a tent."

The woman was removed from the area by Erdoğan's bodyguards.
