Identity of body found in Darıca identified
It has been determined that the body found in the sea yesterday in the Darıca district of Kocaeli belongs to 29-year-old Cengiz Bilmez.
A person was seen motionless on the water's surface around 14:00 off the pier of a residential complex on Yeltenkaya Street in the Piri Reis neighborhood of Kocaeli's Darıca district.
Upon notification, Coast Guard, police, AFAD, and medical teams were dispatched to the area. The body, which was recovered from the sea by the teams and taken onto a boat, was brought to the pier. Examinations revealed that the body belonged to 29-year-old Cengiz Bilmez.

It was learned that Bilmez, a father of 3, resided in the Yukarı Hereke neighborhood of the Körfez district. The body was handed over to his family after the completion of procedures.
Cengiz Bilmez's funeral will be held today at the Yukarı Hereke Grand Mosque, followed by his burial at the Yukarı Hereke Cemetery.
