IETT bus and car collide head-on in Arnavutköy: 1 dead
An IETT bus and a car collided head-on in Istanbul's Arnavutköy district. The driver of the car lost his life at the scene of the accident.
The accident occurred on Hadımköy Yolu Street. According to the information obtained, a Toyota brand car with license plate 34 EVT 438 and an IETT bus operating the Deliklikaya-Arnavutköy route collided head-on for reasons yet to be determined.
Due to the force of the impact, the car driver, İhsan Kayacan (65), became trapped inside the vehicle. Upon notification, fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Despite all interventions, Kayacan, who lost his life at the scene, had his body transported to the Arnavutköy State Hospital morgue.

The IETT bus and the car sustained heavy material damage in the accident. Following the crash, Hadımköy Yolu Street remained closed to traffic for a long time. Kilometers-long vehicle queues formed on the road. Police teams cordoned off the accident area and conducted an investigation.
While the driver of the IETT bus was taken to the police station to provide a statement, the vehicles involved in the accident were towed to a parking lot with the help of a tow truck. A comprehensive investigation into the incident has been launched.
