Following a report of irregular migrants received by police in Edirne, action was taken. The teams that arrived at the scene were met with a shocking sight.

It was understood that 36 illegal migrants in a truck attempting to exit to Bulgaria from the Hamzabeyli Border Gate had called the police and turned themselves in after running out of air.

Medical teams intervened to assist the migrants, who had become exhausted due to the lack of air.

EVERYTHING WAS REVEALED WHEN THE TRUCK WAS SEARCHED

Following a report to the 112 Emergency Call Center regarding a large number of migrants in the trailer of a tractor-trailer at the Hamzabeyli Border Gate in Edirne's Lalapaşa district, which opens to Bulgaria, a search operation was conducted on the trucks.

THEY WERE EXHAUSTED FROM A LACK OF AIR

During the search conducted at the Hamzabeyli Border Gate, 36 illegal migrants were discovered in the trailer section of the vehicle.

Upon seeing that the illegal migrants were exhausted from a lack of air, medical teams were called to the scene to intervene.

Medical checks performed by the teams determined that the migrants were not in life-threatening condition.

The suspect truck driver involved in the incident has been taken into custody.
