İmamoğlu reacts sharply to the transfer of IMM detainees from Silivri

IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has reacted to the transfer of his detained colleagues from Silivri Prison to other facilities. İmamoğlu issued a call to the judiciary.

İmamoğlu expressed his reaction via his social media account regarding the transfer of several individuals, including Murat Ongun, Hüseyin Köksal, Tuncay Yılmaz, Fatih Keleş, and Necati Özkan, from Silivri Prison to facilities in Çorlu, Tekirdağ, and Kocaeli.

"Searches for slanderers, forced false witnesses, fabricated secret witnesses, the intimidation of people I have known from my 23-year professional life by forcing them to testify, the arrest of journalists, dawn raids, seizures, trustees… When the 'big radish' wasn't enough, the 'tail of the calf' lie, etc." said İmamoğlu, adding the following statements:

"Searches for slanderers,

Forced false witnesses,

Fabricated secret witnesses,

The intimidation of people I have known from my 23-year professional life by forcing them to testify,

The arrest of journalists,

Dawn raids, seizures, trustees…

When the 'big radish' wasn't enough

The 'tail of the calf' lie, etc.

And now, according to information I received in the middle of the night, nearly 10 of my friends who were in the same prison as me were transferred to other prisons before dawn!

What is this ambition, this revenge, this deceit, this law of enmity?

For God's sake, have they rotted the country's apple-of-the-eye institutions this much!

I am calling out to the Supreme Turkish Judiciary.

Can a handful of people rot the environment of fair trial in this country to this extent?

I am calling out to the judges, prosecutors, and institutions of our judiciary, which has practically swallowed its tongue.

Enough is enough, for the sake of God, open your mouths and say something. It is truly the Nation and the State that are suffering. Are you still not aware?"
