İmamoğlu reveals what he will do if his candidacy is blocked! He calls on the opposition

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has been imprisoned in Silivri Prison since March 23, announced that he is ready to support another name if his candidacy is blocked.

'IF MY CANDIDACY IS BLOCKED...'

In a written statement sent to Bloomberg through his advisors, İmamoğlu stated, “If my candidacy is officially blocked, the democratic opposition must unite again. If necessary, another name will be put forward, but that person will continue our vision of justice, prosperity, and peace with the same determination.”

Criticizing some countries for remaining silent on the situation in Turkey despite loudly defending human rights and the rule of law, İmamoğlu said, “This is not pragmatism, it is myopia... and it is dangerous.”

'THE MOST APPROPRIATE ALTERNATIVE CANDIDATE WILL BE DETERMINED'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, in an interview with T24, had stated that İmamoğlu is the party's sole candidate until he makes his official candidacy application. Özel said, “15.5 million people voted. People who had never stepped through the doors of the CHP in their lives also voted for Ekrem İmamoğlu in solidarity. We will push the legal and political conditions. In a situation where he cannot be a candidate, the most appropriate alternative candidate will be determined.”
