Ekrem İmamoğlu recalled this economic loss after the 6.2 magnitude earthquake and listed the preparations that could have been made against the earthquake with that money.

They sold the foreign exchange reserves we had accumulated over 2 years at a great cost in 3 days. They even drove away the hot money they were chasing with high interest rates. They paid even higher interest to stop the chaos they created. They practically suffocated producers with high loan interest rates. They further increased the debts of our state and our nation through currency hikes.

Think for a moment about our country's urgent needs. Think about the poor, the retirees, the farmers, the workers, the civil servants, the small business owners, and our youth. Imagine what could have been done for these beautiful people with this money they burned for nothing.

How much longer will this noble nation tolerate these incompetent people who burn and destroy everything in their path for the sake of ambition, who eye the bread of the nation, and who sacrifice resources that should be used for earthquake risk to conspiracies?
