İmamoğlu shares post on the 'Turkey without terrorism' process: We will continue our support

CHP's imprisoned presidential candidate and IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu said, “The first phase of the PKK's dissolution and laying down of arms took place today in Sulaymaniyah.

A future where terrorism ends and weapons are silenced is the common desire and need of us all. We will continue our constructive support so that this process progresses in a way that aligns with the hopes and concerns of the entire nation."

CHP's imprisoned presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu made a statement regarding the disarmament process initiated today by a PKK group burning and destroying their weapons in the city of Sulaymaniyah in Northern Iraq. 

İmamoğlu used the following expressions in his post:

"The first phase of the PKK's dissolution and laying down of arms took place today in Sulaymaniyah. A future where terrorism ends and weapons are silenced is the common desire and need of us all. We will continue our constructive support so that this process progresses in a way that aligns with the hopes and concerns of the entire nation. I wish for this first step to be auspicious for our nation, our state, and all the people in our geography, and I thank everyone who contributed. It should not be forgotten that the primary priority for a Turkey without terrorism and one that is prosperous is democracy for everyone. It is not possible to build a true peace in a place where elected officials are arrested daily through judicial means, where the voices of those who speak are stifled, and where the rule of law does not function."
