İmamoğlu speaks from Silivri: I am working in detail on a Turkey model

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu made striking statements regarding the agenda in an article he wrote for Karar newspaper.

Criticizing the presidential system, İmamoğlu announced that he is working on a new Turkey model.

İmamoğlu used the following expressions in the article in question:

"Instead of producing solutions to the poverty, injustice, and desperation the nation has fallen into, the government is preoccupied with the seat it thinks belongs to it. Without caring about the price the nation will pay, they set a trap for me and the entire competitive order along with me. The 50 billion dollars that our nation accumulated by paying great prices were burned by the government, and interest rates rose."

"TIME TO BUILD OUR TURKEY MODEL"

"We are aware that a great responsibility falls upon us in this broken order that is far from justice and normalizes poverty. The Istanbul Model is precisely the sum of the actions put forward by this sense of responsibility. Now is the time to build our Turkey model. In my cell in Silivri, I am working on these in detail with the awareness of the responsibility our nation has placed upon me."

"WE WILL SEND THE PRESIDENTIAL SYSTEM TO THE DEPTHS OF HISTORY"

"I am calling out to my dear nation. Let us show the whole world that the fate of this nation is not poverty, hopelessness, and desperation.

It is in our hands to develop our country by leaps and bounds, to make our state democratic and strong, and to make our nation wealthy.

Our nation is standing up for this; to get its share of justice, democracy, and wealth. We will save this country from the poverty to which incompetent, ambitious people have condemned it.

We will carry out the revolution of justice and democracy, for we know that it is either Justice or Misery. We will send the current tyrannical order, the regime, and the presidential system that has become a nightmare over this nation and state, to the depths of history.

We will bring to our nation and our future the strongest democratic parliamentary system that befits our nation, the principle of separation of powers, and an accountable, transparent, and merit-based public order," the statements read.
