İmamoğlu to face judge: CHP issues critical call to AKP with days left until IMM trial

The first hearing of the "IMM trial," in which 402 defendants—including IMM Mayor and CHP Presidential Candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu—are being tried, with 106 currently in custody, will begin on Monday in Silivri with an indictment of approximately 3,900 pages. CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir made a statement regarding the IMM trial on his social media account.

Addressing the ruling party directly, Emir stated, "We still have time to make a legal arrangement in Parliament to broadcast the IMM frame-up trial, which begins on Monday, live on TRT. Let us put our proposal on the agenda before the proceedings on the merits begin, or bring your own proposal immediately; let all of Turkey watch the hearings live."

Emphasizing the importance of the public receiving transparent information regarding the case, Emir also included the following in his post: "This is an open call to the AKP government: We still have time to make a legal arrangement in Parliament to broadcast the IMM frame-up trial, which begins on Monday, live on TRT. If you truly trust your own indictment, the prosecutor you placed in the ministerial seat, and the court panels you have turned into a jigsaw puzzle, then I challenge you. Let us put our proposal on the agenda before the proceedings on the merits begin, or bring your own proposal immediately; let all of Turkey watch the hearings live. Those who trust themselves and the case they have constructed do not hide from the nation."
