İmamoğlu unveils Taksim project!

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu traveled to Rome, Italy, for the 2027 European Games protocol.

In a conversation with members of the press in Italy, İmamoğlu also explained the project envisioned for Taksim Square.

İmamoğlu described his project with the following words:

Let's do the front of the AKM, let's bring the tram up to there. They said 'yes' to that too. We actually talked, we set up a respectable table with the ministry 3-4 times. We said, 'Okay, let's start from there.' Our project that won the competition there goes around Gezi Park, comes from behind the Intercontinental, and curves back to Istiklal from in front of the AKM. We are making the train do a lap. Because, as in the initial plans, it is a boulevard from Gezi Park to Maçka Park. A place where people use and walk... It is a beautiful project.
