IMM announces public transport adjustments around Galata Bridge

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has implemented public transport adjustments for a march to be held around the Galata Bridge on January 1. Accordingly, some services on tram, IETT, and maritime transport lines will be suspended or routes will be changed.

The following information was provided in the statement made by the IMM regarding the adjustments: 

"CHANGES TO TRAM SERVICES

T1 Kabataş-Bağcılar Tram Line

-Tuesday, December 31, 2024: Services will not be available between Kabataş and Sultanahmet stations from 22:00 to 02:00.

-Wednesday, January 1, 2025: Services will be suspended between Kabataş and Beyazıt stations from 06:00 to 14:00.

T5 Eminönü-Alibeyköy Tram Line:

-Wednesday, January 1, 2025: Services will not be available between Küçükpazar and Eminönü stations from 06:00 to 14:00. During this period, single-track operation will be implemented between Cibali and Küçükpazar stations.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES FOR IETT LINES

Due to road closures, temporary routes have been determined for many lines operated by IETT. Istanbul residents will be able to use the “Where is My Bus” (Otobüsüm Nerede) application for real-time information.

Affected lines are as follows:

146B, 26, 26A, 28, 28T, 30D, 31E, 32, 33, 33E, 33ES, 33TE, 33Y, 35, 36KE, 38E, 46Ç, 50E, 50P, 54E, 54TE, 66, 70D, 70FE, 70KE, 74, 74A, 77Ç, 78, 78H, 79E, 79GE, 80, 82, 92, 92C, 93, 97A, 97GE, 99A, EM1, EM2.

MARITIME TRANSPORT WILL ALSO BE TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED

Due to events to be held around the Galata Bridge on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, between 04:00 and 12:00, there will also be disruptions in maritime transport.

City Lines (Şehir Hatları) routes that will be unable to operate:

• Üsküdar-Haliç

• Kadıköy-Haliç

• Beşiktaş-Haliç

Services on these lines will be suspended until further notice."
