Very harsh statement from IMM President İmamoğlu! He addressed members of the judiciary: 'You cannot remain silent, you must not!'

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, whose home was raided at dawn as part of two separate investigations opened against him, has been held in custody for over 24 hours. A harsh statement has come from İmamoğlu regarding the process he is going through.

Sharing a post on his social media account, Ekrem İmamoğlu addressed both the government and members of the judiciary. Addressing Erdoğan with the words, "On this path you started with just a ring, while you have tons of stains at home and abroad for which you cannot account for even a fraction, you are eyeing the assets, work, and labor I have accumulated over three generations; you are speaking against our honor and dignity, and you are usurping the future of my children. You are doing all this with a handful of unqualified people. Everyone involved in this business is tainted," İmamoğlu also made a call to members of the judiciary.

Stating, "I also have a call to the members of the judiciary," İmamoğlu said, "I am crying out to the tens of thousands of honest, moral prosecutors and judges of the Supreme Turkish Judiciary who live with a love for serving their nation. You must stand up and take measures against the handful of your colleagues who are ruining this Turkish judiciary, disgracing us before the whole world, and destroying our reputation. I trust the Supreme Turkish Judiciary. You cannot remain silent, you must not."

In his post, İmamoğlu said the following:

I had told my nation and warned them. This mindset that seized my diploma will seize your property, your honor, and your assets, and will commit every kind of extortion and violation. We must stand against this evil as a nation. This is my call to my nation. The nation is great.

I also have a call to the members of the judiciary. You must stand up and take measures against the handful of your colleagues who are ruining this Turkish judiciary, disgracing us before the whole world, and destroying our reputation. Finally, I am addressing all politicians serving in the AK Party and those in the ruling alliance. These events have transcended our parties and our political ideals. The process now concerns our nation, starting with your own families. The day has come to raise our voices. In these lands, there is no such saying as 'let the snake that doesn't bite me live for a thousand years,' and there should not be. I hope everyone will raise their voice by saying, 'even a snake that doesn't bite me cannot dwell in these lands.'
