Imprisoned journalist İsmail Arı writes: 'He never follows negative news about Kılıçdaroğlu'

Journalist İsmail Arı, who is imprisoned at Sincan Prison, used striking expressions regarding his meeting with Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu in a letter he wrote from prison. Arı stated that Kılıçdaroğlu visited him in prison about a month ago.

In the letter he wrote on the 70th day of his imprisonment, Arı recounted his experiences, stating that one day the guards called him to the visitation room, claiming it was a “ministerial visit.” Explaining that when he went to the room, he saw Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu in front of him, Arı said that he had only spoken to Kılıçdaroğlu twice by phone before, and that the face-to-face encounter was unexpected for him.

CONVENTION ASSESSMENT

Stating that the CHP convention also came up during the meeting, Arı conveyed the conclusion he drew from Kılıçdaroğlu’s assessments with the following words:

“From what Kılıçdaroğlu, who clearly told me a month ago that he would accept absolute nullity, explained to me, I understood this: I understood that by saying 'the convention was bought,' he never expected to lose the convention and still has not come to terms with this defeat.”

Arı also stated that Kılıçdaroğlu told him he does not follow news containing negative assessments about himself.

The following statements were included in İsmail Arı’s letter published in BirGün:

He accuses the people he had served as deputies and mayors for years of 'theft,' and says he 'never reads or follows' news containing 'negative' assessments about himself.

I don’t know how many days in my life I have been this surprised. I couldn’t even get over my shock and sadness for a long time. And after a while, I followed the democratic disgrace that took place at the CHP Headquarters and what Kılıçdaroğlu caused moment by moment from prison. Why would a politician who claims to love his country and his people very much do this evil to his country and his people?"

STATEMENT FROM ALİ HAYDAR FIRAT

Ali Haydar Fırat, one of the names close to Kılıçdaroğlu, stated in a post on his social media account that Kılıçdaroğlu does not read the BirGün newspaper.

Quoting BirGün’s article titled “16 years of betrayal,” Fırat included the following statements in his post:

"A note: Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu does not read BirGün Newspaper. He feels deep sadness that the newspaper has reached this state… Since when do you decorate a political analysis with insults? Which donation, advertisement, or 'support' have you become an apparatus for that you can call Kılıçdaroğlu an 'apparatus'? Come on, you are going to create a new Tailor Fikri (Terzi Fikri) out of Ekrem Bey… It is a great pity…"
