In the IYI Party, where resignations have been non-stop, it is claimed that 2 more MPs will resign in the coming days and join the AKP, just like Kürşad Zorlu.
Recent resignations within the IYI Party have stirred up political circles.
Following the resignation of Ankara MP Kürşad Zorlu, who left the IYI Party to join the AKP, Konya MP Ünal Karaman also resigned.
According to a report by Cumhuriyet, it is alleged that 2 more MPs from the IYI Party will resign in the coming days and switch to the AKP.
Party officials stated that the AKP is conducting an operation against the IYI Party through its MPs behind these resignations. An IYI Party official commented, “The AKP is taking out its frustration over vote loss on the opposition. The arrest of Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ, the pressure on the CHP through municipalities, and now an MP operation against us. As the opposition, we must fight all these operations collectively.”
A high-level official from the IYI Party also pointed to the resignations, noting that “rotten apples are being cleared.”
