Instruction from the Istanbul Governor's Office: Taksim metro and funicular line closed
By decision of the Istanbul Governor's Office, the Taksim Metro Station and the Taksim-Kabataş Funicular Line have been closed to passengers until further notice.
An important decision affecting transportation in Istanbul has been taken. In a statement made by Metro Istanbul, it was reported that the Taksim Station on the M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro Line has been temporarily taken out of service in accordance with the instructions of the Istanbul Governor's Office. Within the same scope, the F1 Taksim-Kabataş Funicular Line has also been suspended.
Metro Istanbul officials stated that the decision in question will remain in effect until further notice. Furthermore, it was announced that trains operating on the M2 line will continue their journeys without stopping at Taksim.
