Instruction from Mansur Yavaş following TOMA intervention
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş has ordered blankets to be sent to students who were soaked by water cannons (TOMA) during protests.
Protests that began following the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu continue. In Ankara, university students on the METU campus were intervened against with pressurized water from TOMA vehicles.
Upon learning that the students were soaked, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş stated, "The children are all wet, I will send blankets."
Yavaş, speaking to someone on the phone, instructed them to call the deputy governor of Ankara and stated that he would send hot soup and blankets to the students.
