Instruction to municipalities regarding stray dogs ahead of NATO Summit

As part of the measures taken ahead of the 36th NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government, which will be held in Ankara on July 7-8, a letter regarding the collection of stray dogs has been sent to the relevant institutions and municipalities.

In the letter sent by the Ankara Provincial Security Directorate to the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, and the municipalities of Akyurt, Çubuk, Pursaklar, Keçiören, Altındağ, Çankaya, Yenimahalle, and Etimesgut, it was requested that stray dogs located around the routes, event venues, airports, and hotels to be used for accommodation within the scope of the summit be collected before the summit dates.

PERSONNEL INFORMATION ALSO REQUESTED

According to the report by Evrensel, the letter stated that the teams to serve on July 7-8 must be ready in the field, and it was requested that information regarding the personnel to be assigned be reported to the Coordination Branch Directorate of the Ankara Provincial Security Directorate by June 20, 2026.

SUMMIT ROUTES LISTED ONE BY ONE

The security letter also included a detailed list of the routes to be used within the scope of the NATO Summit.

Accordingly, the section of the Ring Road remaining between the Özal Boulevard variants and the Anadolu Boulevard variants, Özal Boulevard, Erbakan Boulevard, Şehit Ömer Halis Demir Boulevard, Turgut Özal 2 Boulevard, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Boulevard, Mevlana Boulevard, İnönü Boulevard, Ankara Boulevard, Atatürk Boulevard, Anadolu Boulevard, Dumlupınar Boulevard, 1071 Malazgirt Boulevard, Presidential Boulevard, Sakıp Sabancı Boulevard, İhsan Doğramacı Boulevard, and the participation variants from Şaşmaz Boulevard to Ankara Boulevard were included in the scope of the routes.

In addition, Türk Kızılayı Street, Cinnah Street, Simon Bolivar Street, Rabindranath Tagore Street, Bahriye Üçok Street, John F. Kennedy Street, Chisinau Street, Jose Marti Street, Argentina Street, Iran Street, Poland Street, Şehit Öğretmen Şenay Aybüke Yalçın Street, Nizami Ganjavi Street, Yaşam Street, Presidential Street, Alparslan Türkeş Street, Beştepe Street, Söğütözü Street, and Tehran Street were also indicated among the summit routes.

The section of Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu Street remaining between İsmet İnönü Boulevard and Çetin Emeç Boulevard, as well as the streets and avenues located within the Bilkent Campus, were also included in the list.

The letter also stated that 1600th Street, 1613th Street, 173rd Street, 171st Street, 172nd Street, Billur Street, Boğaz Street, Bülten Street, Gülözü Street, Şehit Ömer Haluk Sipahioğlu Street, Adalet Street, Nergiz Street, 350th Street, 286th Street, 147th Street, 145th Street, 198th Street, 5th Street, 4th Street, 3rd Street, 1st Street, 720th Street, 721st Street, 1443rd Street, 1452nd Street, 1377th Street, 1380th Street, 1381st Street, and 2453rd Street are among the routes to be used within the scope of the summit.
