Intense Russian air attack on Ukraine: Critical infrastructure targeted

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that the Russian army has carried out one of the most intense air attacks on his country. Sybiha stated that civilian settlements and critical infrastructure were targeted in the attacks that began in the morning hours.

In a statement on the X social media platform, Sybiha said, "Russia has launched one of its most intense air attacks on peaceful cities, sleeping civilians, and critical infrastructure using drones and missiles. These attacks are a response to those who recently called Putin. We need to achieve peace through strength, not through appeasement."

CASUALTIES RISING

The Ukrainian Air Force reported in a statement on its Telegram account that attacks were carried out and explosions occurred in cities including the capital Kyiv, as well as Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih, and Mykolaiv.

Two people lost their lives and 6 people were injured in a drone attack on Mykolaiv.

ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE TARGETED 

Energy Minister German Galushchenko stated that the Russian army is conducting intense attacks specifically on electricity generation and transmission facilities. Galushchenko stated, "The enemy is targeting energy infrastructure across Ukraine. As a result, power outages are occurring in many regions."

AIR DEFENSE SYSTEMS ACTIVE 

Officials stated that air defense systems are active in many Ukrainian cities and efforts are being made to intercept the attacks. However, it was reported that the attacks are still ongoing and the situation remains critical.
