Interior Ministry announces: CHP mayor suspended from duty
CHP Eşme Mayor Yılmaz Tozan, who was arrested, has been suspended from his post.
Eşme Mayor Yılmaz Tozan, who was detained as part of ongoing operations targeting CHP-run municipalities, has been arrested and sent to prison.
The Ministry of Interior announced that Tozan has been suspended from his duties.
The Ministry's statement is as follows:
"PRESS RELEASE REGARDING THE SUSPENSION OF UŞAK PROVINCE EŞME MAYOR YILMAZ TOZAN BY THE MINISTRY OF INTERIOR
Uşak Province Eşme Mayor Yılmaz TOZAN has been suspended from duty as a temporary measure by the Ministry of Interior, in accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution and Article 47 of the Municipal Law No. 5393, following his arrest by the Eşme Criminal Court of Peace's decision numbered 2026/15, as part of an investigation conducted into the crime of 'Extortion by Coercion, Establishing an Organization for the Purpose of Committing Crimes.'
