Investigation launched into gendarmerie following İmamoğlu's birthday celebration

A notable development has occurred at the Marmara Penal Execution Institutions campus in Silivri, where the trial concerning the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality is being held. The Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command has launched an administrative investigation into some gendarmerie personnel who were on duty in courtroom No. 1.

According to information obtained, the investigation was opened following footage recorded before the hearing and during breaks.

FOOTAGE UNDER REVIEW

It has been learned that an administrative investigation process has been initiated regarding the conduct and behavior of some gendarmerie personnel assigned to the courtroom at the Marmara Penal Execution Institutions complex.

It was stated that the reason for the investigation is the footage taken at the beginning of the hearing and during a break the previous day.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION HELD IN THE COURTROOM

Before the latest hearing of the "corruption" case against the İBB, a birthday celebration was held in the courtroom for Ekrem İmamoğlu, the suspended Mayor of Istanbul and CHP's presidential candidate.

In the courtroom, where Dilek İmamoğlu, musician Cahit Berkay, and author Sunay Akın were among those following the hearing, supporters carried signs reading "Happy Birthday." The sign held by Dilek İmamoğlu read, "Happy birthday my love, I love you."

Applause erupted in the hall as a cake was cut during the celebration. Footage showed gendarmerie teams intervening in the celebration and the applause.
