Investigation launched into Özgür Aybaş over Akın Gürlek post: He gave his statement to the police
An investigation has been launched into Turkey Monopoly Dealers Platform President Özgür Aybaş for sharing information on social media regarding the land registry records of Akın Gürlek, which was brought to the agenda by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel during his parliamentary group meeting. It was reported that Aybaş has provided his statement to the police.
Turkey Monopoly Dealers Platform President Özgür Aybaş has given a statement to the police as part of an investigation into posts regarding the assets of Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek. It was stated that the investigation was initiated in connection with the sharing on social media of a video that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had presented during his party's group meeting, which contained allegations regarding Akın Gürlek's land registry records.
Aybaş announced the developments on his personal social media account. Regarding the matter, he stated, "I have just given my statement at the police station and left. The subject of the investigation is liking, retweeting, and quoting the post by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, the video from the group meeting. If you ask what the post is, it is 'Akın Gürlek's land registry records'."

The discussions that have caused widespread public reaction in recent weeks began with allegations voiced by CHP leader Özgür Özel in his speech at the parliament. In the meeting, which he characterized as "the great feats of a small radish," Özel shared various figures regarding the total value of the real estate owned and sold by Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek during his past tenure as the Chief Public Prosecutor of Istanbul.
The CHP Chairman claimed that the total average transaction volume of the 11 residences and one plot of land held by Gürlek, along with 4 residential sales that were carried out, reached 452 million liras. He further stated that even if Gürlek were to receive a first-degree judge's salary, it would take "many long years" to accumulate a fortune of this size.
On the other hand, Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek had commented on the allegations raised by Özel, saying, "The judicial process has begun. The court will, of course, bring the land registry records."
