Investigation launched into Tamar Tanrıyar for targeting CHP members

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into Tamar Tanrıyar on charges of "insult" and "slander" due to videos she published on social media.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and CHP Malatya Deputy Veli Ağbaba filed a criminal complaint against Tamar Tanrıyar on the grounds that she made posts containing "insults" and "slander" against them on social media.

VIDEOS INCLUDED IN THE COMPLAINT

In the complaint petitions, it was stated that the videos published on a YouTube channel on May 9, 10, and 11, 2026, contained false allegations against Özel and Ağbaba and targeted their personal rights.

The petition alleged that the broadcasts in question constituted the crime of "publicly insulting a public official due to their duty."

EMPHASIS ON "UNFOUNDED ALLEGATIONS"

In the application petitions, it was stated that the allegations did not reflect the truth and were in the nature of "slander fabricated at a desk." Furthermore, it was noted that Tamar Tanrıyar had previously targeted them with similar allegations but had failed to present any evidence to support these claims during judicial processes.

Following the criminal complaints, it was learned that the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated an investigation into Tanrıyar for the crimes of "insult" and "slander."
