Investigation launched into claims that 'Chief Public Prosecutor attempted to influence presiding judges'

An investigation has been launched regarding the publication of reports claiming that 'the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor arrived at the courthouse late at night and attempted to influence the judges presiding over the investigation' concerning the criminal organization case in which Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat is a suspect.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office determined that false news was published in certain media outlets alleging that 'the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor arrived at the courthouse late at night and attempted to influence the judges presiding over the investigation' regarding the criminal organization case, in which it was determined that suspects organized tender processes by bribing municipal officials whose interrogations by the Criminal Judgeship of Peace are ongoing.

An ex officio investigation has been launched into the matter on charges of 'publicly disseminating misleading information.'
